10:06 am - Fight the Flood!

All the rain last night seems to have caused a bit of high water in Valley View! On my way down Warner I was stopped before going down the hill into the valley by officers telling me that the road was too flooded to go through. I went around three different ways before I found a way into the parking lot, which was dry despite being right on the canal. When I finally made it into work about 45 minutes later than I'd planned, there was noone there and the power was off. I called my buddy at work, Ben, and he told me he was just there with one of the sales guys, and we're closing the office for the day. Huzzah! Here's some pictures I snapped on my sidekick before I came home:

Here's a view of the canal going under Warner Rd. There's normally a good 6 feet of room between the water and the bridge.

Looking up Warner, we see more water on the road and a city vehicle of some sort mucking about in it.

Here's the restaurant/bar across the road. Their whole lot is flooded.

More of their lot, heading into the next place.

And here we see a car sitting in about three feet of water. I smell a frustrated owner.

So I just got back from seeing Downtown Brown, The Ergs, SNMNMNM, and mc chris for something on the order of 5 hours. All I can say is, wow, that was a lot of awesome music. Also, if whatever gods are listening right now would like to give me back the functionality of my left ear, I'd happily convert to your religion.
